Michelle's practice often begins with drawing and photographing shadows and negative space, before using a range of mediums and materials to expand her exploration of what defines absence and presence, memory and time and liminal spaces. She is particularly interested in the interaction of light and shadows.

Biography

Michelle Di Leo, b. 1970, London

Michelle graduated with an Upper Second Class BA (Hons) in Philosophy  with English Literature in 1992.    In 1993 she achieved a Masters (with Distinction) in Government and Politics at London Guildhall University.

Michelle spent nearly 30 years in strategic communications running campaigns and providing senior counsel to a wide range of businesses and organisations. In 2021 she decided to focus on developing her artistic practice and since then has completed a series of art education courses and exhibited in a several group shows.

She lives and works in Blackheath, South East London.
